After .xxx domain names were released in April of this year, several porn companies have complained about the high price of the domains. Online pornography giant Manwin Licensing International SARL has taken this complaint a step further, and has filed a lawsuit accusing domain registration companies of monopolistic practices.
The lawsuit specifically names a company called ICM Registry, which handles many of the .xxx domain registration requests. By charging approximately $60 per .xxx domain, Manwin claims that ICM is engaging in anticompetitive practices, price gouging, and other forms of monopolistic conduct.
Before you start thinking that a measly $60 isn’t a big deal for a large company as large asManwin, consider the fact that major porn companies must scoop up hundreds – if not thousands – of .xxx domains in order to protect their presence online.
For example, these companies will often buy domain names that contain misspellings of their company’s popular brands, or of famous porn stars with which they are affiliated. For a company as large as Manwin, the costs of domain ownership can quickly add up.
The results of this lawsuit will be interesting for the porn industry, and other major companies are sure to be eagerly anticipating the result. The cost saving potential is enormous, and this lawsuit could forever alter the way the industry views .xxx domains.
Manwin is in charge of major porn sites like YouPorn, PornHub, Brazzers, Xtube, and Playboy.com, and is backed up by another large adult entertainment company, Digital Playground in their lawsuit. Stay tuned to SUP69.com for updates in this case.

Both sides have filed a discontinuance in the copyright infringement case.

Pink Visuals has settled there law suit against Brazzers for an undisclosed amount. Sources close to the case indicate that it was a 7 figure settlement.

Good job Pink Visuals. Now back to the Brazzers tube sites…

The parent company to Brazzers, Mansef Inc and Froytal Services limited filed a lawsuit on August 19 in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles against Ventura Content and Denali Holdings (Pink Visuals parent company) , alleging federal trademark infringement, false designation of origin, common law trademark infringement and unfair business practices. Part of the complaint is that Ventura Content and Denali Holdings purchased “Brazzers” related  keywords from internet search engines such as Google Adwords to delibrately divert traffic away from the Brazzers sites and onto their sites.

The complaint states, “Plaintiffs are informed, believe, and based thereon allege, that in an effort to drive traffic to the Pink Visual Websites (and, more specifically, to divert traffic to the Brazzers Websites to the Pink Visual Websites), Defendants purchased as Google AdWords keywords containing or constituting the Brazzers mark, including, but not limited to: ‘Brazzers,’ ‘Brazzers Mobile,’ and ‘Brazzers Vids’ (collectively ‘the Keywords’).”

The plaintiffs are asking for the defendants to pay triple compensatory damages sustained as a result of their alleged actions. Punitive damages also are being requested, in an amount consistent with any gain or profit derived as a result of the acts, in addition to attorneys’ fees and costs associated with “corrective advertising.”

Ventura is aware of the complaint, reviewing it and will respond through the courts.

The court has denied Brazzers request to release the 6+ million dollars they have seized from them. On top of that, their motion to dismiss the Pink Visual law suit looks like it ain’t gonna happen either. Tough break Brazzers…

According to MikeSouth.com, Brazzers has now included a tube site in their pay area that has content from all the major studios in the biz.

Like they say, GO BIG or GO HOME right? Brazzers is currently facing a multi million dollar law suit from Pink Visual for taking part in owning and operating tube sites that illegally distributes adult content from all the other big players in the game while only offering 3-5 min clips of their own videos.

The kings of internet porn, Brazzers, has just been hit with a 6.74 million dollar lawsuit by Pink Visual. Pink Visual alleges that Brazzers knowingly owns, operates and engages in the copyright infringement of adult content.  The websites included in Pink Visual’s $6.75 million complaint include KeezMovies.com, PornHub.com, Extremetube.com and Tube8.com, all owned by Canadian companies Mansef Inc. and Interhub, whose officers operate both companies.

Pink Visual’s holding company (Ventura Content) has hired the law firm Jenner and Block LLP, the same firm that represented copyright owners in their successful actions against Grokster, TorrentSpy and Usenet.com, among others. Pink Visual is seeking statutory and actual damages, punitive damages, attorneys fees and injunctive relief.
