Porn without condoms set to become illegal?
Posted by: EmperorYogi

An initiative that would force porn actors to wear condoms has gained a little bit of traction this past week, as the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) has expanded its efforts countrywide.
While they’ve been bugging Los Angeles voters about this for quite some time, the AHF’s efforts have had mixed results. However, they did succeed in pushing forward the idea of a ‘yes-or-no’ referendum on next November’s presidential election ballotsregarding the regulation of the use of condoms in pornography.
That initiative, however, is being challenged by a city attorney,
The pornography industry, in general, does not take AIDS lightly. They impose mandatory monthly testing on all of its actors, which industry officials say has significantly reduced the number of AIDS cases going around.
Nevertheless, the AHF argues that this isn’t enough.
One thing that the AHF does take seriously is acronyms: they’re calling their initiative the group For Adult Industry Responsibility (FAIR). I didn’t think you could just drop the ‘group’ part off the front of that acronym, but I guess GFAIR doesn’t flow as well.
The results of this countrywide initiative will be interesting to see. If a regulation regarding condom usage were to pass in Los Angeles, it would likely force many porn producer to other cities, or worse, underground, where conditions would be far more dangerous for porn actors.
But if a countrywide initiative were to pass, where would porn producers go then? Overseas?
