Will James Deen be the star of Fifty Shades of Grey Movie?

James Deen is having a career year. Already an accomplished porn actor, James Deen recently completed filming a movie called The Canyons with Lindsay Lohan. But it looks like James Deen could soon become a household name: Deen is currently being considered for the lead role in the 50 Shades of Grey movie.

For the past few months, rumors have swirled around who will play Christian Grey and Ana Steele in the 50 Shades of Grey movie. Names like Emma Watson have been rumored for the female role of Ana, while everyone from True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard to Ryan Gosling has been rumored for the male lead.

However, rumors became even more frenzied this week when director Bret Easton Ellis (who was initially rumored to be directly involved with the project before dropping out), tweeted that he had “inside information” that James Deen is going to play Christian Grey:

“Just got inside information that James Deen is actually in the running to play Christian in ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ with EL James support”, his tweet read.

A follow-up tweet also claimed that Ana would be played by an unknown female lead, and that the movie’s total budget would be less than $15 million.

Of course, this could all be a publicity stunt to hype James Deen’s upcoming movie The Canyons, which is being directed by Bret Easton Ellis himself. Whether the rumor is true or not, James Deen is becoming more of a household name every day.
